B.A (Hons) Tourism Management

Overview

The fast growing global tourism industry has opened exciting new career prospects. The BA (Hons) Tourism Management is a three-year full-time degree awarded by Staffordshire University, UK specially designed to groom students for management positions in the tourism sector.

Students of the Tourism Management award will acquire knowledge, management skills, language and communication skills and confidence to successfully manage and expand tourism ventures. The first year of study provides a firm grounding in general management leading to specialized training in Tourism Theories, Tourism Perspectives and Service Operations Management in the second year. The training covers broad based subjects such as International Tourism Marketing and Contemporary Issues in Tourism during the third year of study.

Teaching and Learning

You will visit tourist ventures, interact with tour operators and engage with industry practitioners throughout the course of study. The Final Year Tourism Management Project enables you to put all your learning into practice and address a contemporary real world challenge in tourism. The industry embedded nature of the training ensures that you will be equipped with the relevant skills, knowledge and confidence to meet the demands of the growing tourism industry.

Admission Requirements

The minimum qualifications required for admission are:
GCE Advanced Level with 2 passes with a Credit Pass for English at the GCE (Ordinary Level)
or
GCE Advanced Level (London, Cambridge or Edexcel) with 2 passes
or
Successful completion of the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology Degree Foundation
or
Equivalent
You may apply pending A/L results. Applicants with additional qualifications may receive advanced entry.

Course fees

Course fees for the degree programme may be paid upfront or in instalments. The course fee includes tuition fee, cost of course materials and assessment and examination fees, but excludes fees payable for any resit or additional examinations and repeat modules. Students may choose one of the three payment options at each level.
