BSc(Hons) Business Information Systems

Course Overview

This course develops your understanding of the business challenges of an enterprise, and your ability to conceive and manage solutions which are increasingly ICT- dependent. You will incorporate your skills in problem solving and information systems modeling with your knowledge of business processes and environments.

Deakin University, Australia will accept the students who have completed the first year of the  BSc (Hons ) Business Information System at IIT for their Bachelor of Commerce degree programme and Bachelor of Information Systems degree which would be renamed as Bachelor of Business analytics from 2001 .  They can complete the balance two years at Deakin University and  get the Deakin degree if they wish, provided that they satisfy the other entry criteria such as English language and GCE (AL) requirements.

Entry Requirements

Students should obtain a minimum of 12 points for the results in the GCE Advanced Level Examination in any stream (Physical Science, Biological Science, Commerce, Arts, or Technology) based on the following table.

Course Content Outline

This course will give you a clear perspective of the current nature and practice of business information systems. In Year 1 you will be introduced to the main fundamental concepts and in Year 2 and Year 3 you will follow the specialist themes which interest you the most. You will also take some modules offered by Westminster Business School.

Year 3 - Industrial Placement

A 12-month placement period is compulsory between Years 2 and 4. This experience will give you additional practical skills, and a competitive edge in the job market. This mandatory placement will not only empower a student with a degree but also with the necessary work experience. With this added advantage, IIT students have a 100% employment assurance and is most often selected for high income employment at renowned organizations.
