BSc in Aircraft Maintenance – General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU)
Overview
In keeping with the national policy of elevating Sri Lanka into an Educational and Aviation Hub in the South Asian Region and with a view of expanding the aviation education in the country, the Department of Aeronautical Engineering of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) has introduced a new degree programme, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Aircraft Maintenance, from year 2018 onwards in collaboration with SriLankan Aviation College (SLAC)
Duration of the degree : 4 years full time
Course programme :

Students will follow EASA 147 approved Basic Aircraft Maintenance Training Course offered by SLAC for the first two years

Subsequently students will follow academics at KDU for one and a half years.

Students will undergo final 6 months of the programme on internship/OJT at SLAC
Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates will be offered a BSc in Aircraft Maintenance (Hons.) degree offered by KDU to meet the present day industry needs and SLAC will offer level 2 type course on Airbus aircraft and a 6 months internship will be given.
Entry Requirement
Local:
- should possess university entrance qualification in mathematics stream
- Age should be between 18-30 years
Foreign:
- Similar foreign qualification
