Program Structure

This is a one-year, masters course consists of 4 core units and a capstone stage. The course is delivered using a unit delivery pattern; you will undertake one unit at a time for two months and that will be a unit of delivery. At the end of four units (8 months) you will progress to the master’s capstone experience stage where you will opt to complete either, a dissertation, a professional practice, or a live project unit. Each of these options will include an element of research methodology which is embedded within the unit.

The learning delivery takes place through a mix of interactive lectures, seminars, tutorials and lab sessions, along with guided learning, independent and autonomous learning.
Four compulsory modules cover the essential concepts, tools and techniques on some of the main areas that you’ll need to know to become an effective project manager. You’ll explore relevant organisational and management issues, such as leadership, team development and stakeholder management, as well as risk management. Students will also learn about decision making in project management – a crucial skill that is not covered in depth on many other masters programmes of this kind.

Student will learn about project management practice, including defining, planning and implementing projects and ways to identify address and analyse the challenges posed by large, complex projects. Students will also gain hands-on experience by planning a real-life project enabling them to apply your knowledge, develop the relevant skills and learn from the process.
