Pearson BTEC Level 4 Professional Award in Soft Skills for Teachers

Course Details

This is a standalone international qualification that addresses the need for developing ‘Soft Skills’ among teachers. The programme is exclusively offered by Gateway Graduate School (GGS). It is relevant to teachers who are new to the profession and to those who are interested in enhancing their profiles through continuing professional development (CPD).

Pearson BTEC Level 4 Professional Award in Soft Skills for Teachers entails 100 hours of total learning and it enables the participants to develop the ‘Soft Skills’ competencies required to carry out teaching across various settings. ‘Soft Skills’ characterizes a set of personal skills that can be helpful in the teaching and learning environment. The programme develops among the learners the critical understanding of the concept of empathy and its applicability to the teaching environment. It also encourages the learners to develop a deep awareness of the professional role of the teacher and the importance of ethical behaviour in promoting the well- being of the student.

This programme can also be conducted at individual schools in a customised manner.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME AND INTAKES

The duration will be three (3) months of part-time studies.
There will be three (3) intakes per year: February, July and October.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Advanced Level qualification (Local/UK)
  • OR
  • NCC Level 3 International Foundation Diploma in Higher Education Studies offered by Gateway Graduate School

As such, it is recognised in many parts of the world, particularly within the education sector as an institution which awards outcomes-based professional qualifications of the highest quality.

Most importantly, successful students will be able to progress onto the Pearson BTEC Level 4 Professional Diploma in Teaching followed by Pearson BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Advanced Teaching qualification, which is recognised by the University of Nottingham as an entry qualification for its prestigious MA in Education programme. The University of Nottingham is ranked 25th in the world and 4th in the UK for the subjects of Education and Training by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the premier ranking system for international higher education institutions.
