Management Associate Program

A two-year program with a total of 24 days training in four blocks of 6 days (three consecutive weekends) each. Target Audience is Management associates joining a bank and bank staff identified as management grade succession candidates.

Module 1 topics: Banking industry, financial markets, banking business models and types of banks, bank products and services, bank operating structures.

Module 2 will consist of a series of “Missions” which combine knowledge building and skills acquisition in a “learning by doing” environment, where 3 expert input is available, and, at the same time, participants exercise their capabilities and develop skills to address specific situations in the broader consumer banking and wealth management space.

The core of module 3 will be learning how to analyze the business of corporate clients, their leadership, and the articulation of business partnerships where a bank can add value to the client. Best practices from around the globe, and especially in Asia, will be discussed besides hands-on live examples from the environment in Sri Lanka. This will include running an industrial enterprise simulation to experience corporate decision making and funding issues.

Module 4 grooms management associates for a leadership role at the bank, with a series of input speeches, review of project tasks as a lead in to the topics (which will be provided 6 months prior to the seminar) focusing on how the various operations and aspects of a bank interact and interconnect; finally, a coaching based assessment of candidates to evaluate their personal career aspirations and align them to the bank´s intended roles for them.
