Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing
Overview
The Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (PGDIP) is highly recognized by the corporate sector, thus it paves the way for budding Marketers to secure employment in the corporate sector in Sri Lanka. This is a 24 month part-time programme of study which offers prospective students and practitioners of marketing an opportunity to learn and apply sound theoretical concepts to their day-to-day business situations. It is a programme which will give students marketing competencies from operational level to synthesis level. The course has four levels:
Programme Objectives
The objective of the programme is to equip Marketers with sound theoretical and practical knowledge with exposure to applications in global and local business and Marketing contexts. Thus they should be able to consolidate, develop, and demonstrate core competencies which underpin effective Marketing skills at all levels of their career
- A sound knowledge of concepts and applications of Marketing from operational level to synthesis level in an organization
- The essential skills of communication, creativity, conceptualization, teamwork, and a professional approach to Business Management
- The ability to plan and manage Marketing situations at operational, managerial, and strategic levels
- The confidence to take initiatives and handle challenging situations in their career
- Competencies in other areas in business functions for effective decision making
