Certificate in Health Science- Pathway to Diploma in Nursing
If you enjoy working with people & care about good health you may be interested in pursuing a career in Nursing. Nurse can be involved in caring for the sick, rehabilitation, promoting health, preventing diseases, teaching & a host of other activities. Thus nursing not only requires medical knowledge, skill & competence but empathy, patience & a caring nature.
Students undertake the Certificate in Health Sciences can complete their studies in 3 different pathways; Nursing, Reflexology and Massage Therapy. The content for this program uses TAFE South Australia prepared course materials, which have been quality assured. This program is 12 months duration. At the completion of this program, students can gain employment in Sri Lanka as Nurse Assistants, or continue their studies in the Diploma of General Nursing or Diploma in Health Care (personal care assistant).
Our Certificate in Health Sciences – Nursing pathway also provides a pathway to TAFE South Australia’s Diploma of Nursing.
Graduates of the IIHS Certificate in Health Sciences are able to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) with TAFE South Australia, who will undertake an assessment of your skills and knowledge against the requirements of the Diploma of Nursing. If successful in your RPL, this will mean that you receive credit towards the TAFE SA qualification. TAFE South Australia’s practice of RPL is consistent with the Course credit definition and conditions of the Educational Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 and the National Code of Practice 2007.* If course credits or exemptions are granted through RPL this may reduce the duration of the course. Documentation and Visa processes for students will be done free of charge. IELTS classes for students will be done free of charge.
Certificate III in Aged Care program included in Certificate in Health Science program (Advantageous in finding part time jobs)
- Then 1.5 months – Diploma in Nursing at TAFE Institute Australia – Designation: Enrolled Nurse (Can work as an Enrolled Nurse)
- Then 2 years – Bachelors in Nursing: University of South Australia – Designation: Registered Nurse (Fully qualified Registered Nurse)
